Children's Ministry

Children are very important at the Vineyard Church of Federal Way. We believe that children are not only the future of the church but are active members of the church. While we have classes for children of every age, we also include them in every aspect of church life. This includes participation in worship, helping in the church service and serving side by side with adults in many aspects of church life.

Safety
The safety of the children who come to our church is of up most importance to us. Background checks are done before any individual can work with children. Teachers, assistants and youth workers are not allowed to be alone with a child. During the services staff members check in regularly on classes. Click here to see all of our protection policies,

Sunday School Vision Statement 2007

Sunday School is amazingly important part of my life – past, present, and future. Past – I grew up in Sunday School. Present – I am now the Superintendent for FWV Sunday School. Future – my son, Jesse, will be a part of Sunday School and learning, hopefully, things that will help him grow in the Lord.

The purpose of Sunday School is to help introduce children to God’s love for them and help them begin the journey to knowing Him personally. The vision I have for Sunday School is that we can be a support to parents who already know the Lord and are teaching their children about Him and also a way for children not in Christian homes to learn about Him.

My objective is to be the place parents can know their children are safe, happy and learning how be have a relationship with Jesus and others. My main goal is that every child and parent will see our heart for them and our love for the Lord. My heart for this ministry is Proverbs 22:6. “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” I want our children to KNOW God. I want our children to be able to tell their children of God and His love. Psalm 78:4 “We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done.” It is our responsibility to our children to help them become who God has called them to be.

People serving in Sunday School now are Elisabeth Wingard, Bonnie O’Leary, Jamie Lacey, Vicki HOwerton, Diane Thomas Hart, Annette Hefferon, Cindy Hubbard, Jody Vajko, and there a few others to be added in soon.
