I'm thankful for what Thanksgiving means
By Cindy Jury I am thankful for turning 40. I am thankful for the memory loss that comes with it. I am thankful for our children and the laughter that comes with them. Also the dirty toilets, toys that I trip on, and their homework that reminds me of things I’d forgotten.
I am thankful for my husband, how hard-working he is and how he is so accepting of the silly things I say and do. I am thankful for my friends who remind me that sometimes what I am going through is simply seasonal and winter will change into spring, then summer. I am thankful for my friend, Michael, who passed away 17 years ago, and the memories that are still with me and how I can still miss him.
I am thankful that Jesus paid the price and signed the check for our eternal life. I am thankful that He has taken the sting out of death and added the joy to life. I am thankful for His outstretched arms and smiling, loving face that I can experience spiritually on Earth, but will see face to face in heaven. I wonder what it will feel like to be hugged by Him? I’m thankful that I will see Michael and others that I have lost and still miss. I bet I’ll even find my memory there.
I’m thankful for Thanksgiving and the reminder that it brings to give thanks. What are you thankful for?
