Fall Sermon Series: the Upside Down Life - How Following God Means Living Life Upside Down
We seek to be humble because Jesus model this life for us and calls us to it in scripture. But what does humility look like in everyday life? We are often confused about how to move forward with God’s plan for our lives, but the truth is that God’s ways are often totally opposite, or upside down, to our ways.
The Upside Down Life is a series of messages based upon the Beatitudes, which are from Jesus’ famous Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:3-10). In this series you will learn how to find peace and fulfillment in your life, your work, and your relationships – regardless of your circumstances. However, the path to this “blessed life” may be surprisingly different that you think. In fact, it’s Upside Down!
Sunday, Dec. 2nd, 12:30pm, Lori Georgeson’s Home
Ladies, Please come and enjoy this fun and festive Christmas social with the women of the Vineyard! The day will include a festive lunch, a women’s devotional by Pastor Michelle, and a fun time to make your own holiday wreath for your front door or to decorate your home.
Our goal is to reflect on the joy of the Christmas season, relax with old friends, make new friends, and use your imagination to create something beautiful.
Friends and family are welcome. No childcare is provided although young girls (daughters, granddaughters, etc) are welcome to come and participate.
Your Holiday Hostesses,
Pastor Michelle Paxton & Lori Georgeson
OCC is one of our favorite international outreaches because it is such an effective and life-giving form of evangelism to children . Every year at this time, we ask you to pack one or more shoe boxes with gifts for children in need around the world. Each box is an opportunity for a boy or girl to experience the love of God in a tangible way and hear the Gospel. It’s simple, it’s fun, and it works! Thank you to everyone who participated this year by packing a shoe box or two.
Shoeboxes were delivered to a OCC pick up location and we will let you know soon to which country our boxes are headed.
All Church Outreach - Blessing Bags
We are continuing to collect the items for the Blessing Bags, as well as new and gently used winter coats, hats, gloves and socks. There will be a box in the entry way every Sunday to collect these items. Thank you for your ongoing donations to this vital ministry.
Stay tuned for the next All-Church outreach during which we will hit the streets of our community to pass out these bags to those in need.
